Live Plants / Dead Plants
Installation. Materials: dead plants, live plants (beans, tomatoes, and ivy), self-watering planters made of reclaimed materials (buckets, pails, rope, cans, burlap, cassette-tape-holder, recycling bins, wood, hard-hat, paint cans), soil, water, lightbulbs.
Created as part of a residency with the VAV Gallery and the Concordia University Centre for Creative Reuse (CUCCR), this project used entirely reclaimed materials, giving them new life in art and new growth as planters. Materials for guests to learn to make their own self-watering planters were available.
